The AMC DH 9 bomber was intended to be a natural progression to the highly regarded 275hp V12 Rolls Royce Eagle powered DH 4. Originally the DH.9 was designed to be powered by the BHP (“Beardmore Halford Pullinger”) Galloway Adriatic, inline six motor of a possible 300hp. The DH.9 utilized many proven components from the DH 4 such as wings, undercarriage, tailplane and basic fuselage design. Changes included moving the pilot rearwards for improved communication with the gunner, the petrol / fuel tank moved forward and the nose was redesigned to accommodate the new engine. It was the first British bomber with accommodations for an internal bomb rack.
The review
This set is designed for Wingnut Wings kit.
It has 14 micro-textile harness and connecting straps and 12 photo-etch pieces.
it is made using micro-textile sheeting, metallic buckles.
The straps are special micro-textile strips which is printed and behaves like a tight weave fabric and leather.
Set contains seat belts for 1 Dual-seater aircraft.
Micro-textile parts are can be coated in super glue after placement - it leads to darkening shades and these are also waterproofed and easy to assemble. But you must be deliberate with their construction.
The cardboard insert in the set makes an excellent cutting board. Sets are about 229 Kč = 11.01 USD.
Using the belts
1. Take the precut textile part out of the sheet.
2. Remove supporting paper if any.
3. Crumple the belt into a little ball and knead it between the fingers.
4. Thread the belts through the buckles – use superglue.
5. Put the belts into the seat.
6. Spray with the glossy varnish.
8. Spray with matt varnish.
7. Saturate the belts with very wash of colour(mix of black and brown) – it will highlight the texture and shadows.
Conclusion
I have used WWI aviation subjects of the HGW Micro-textile belts in some of my builds and can report very pleasing results.
