Caraktère Presse & Editions have released a high quality limited edition 2015 calendar under the banner of their popular French language Aérojournal magazine.
This is a desk-style calendar and folds out to be free-standing, with each page flipping over to reveal the following month. The calendar measures 15.5cm x 21cm, so it is well sized to sit neatly on a modelling desk without taking up too much room. Each page is dominated by some really high quality artwork by Jerry Boucher. I would have described it as a WW2 calendar, barring the surprise illustration for December. The months are illustrated as follows:
January - Douglas TBD Devastator
February - Henshel Hs 123B
March - Curtiss SB2C Helldiver
April - Dewoitine D.520
May - B-25 Mitchell
June - P-51D Mustang
July - A6M Zero
August - Fiat CR42
September - GM4 Betty
October - Il-2 Sturmovik
November - F4U Corsair
December - F-86 Sabre
Of course, being a French publication, Aérojournal's calendar is in French too, but I wouldn't discount it if even you're not too fluent. For many it will be a simple refresher of the "Lundi, Mardi, Mercredi, Jeudi..." that we learned at school and, to be honest, it takes two ticks to get to grips with, as each Sunday (Dimanche) is highlighted in red.
Conclusion
I'm definitely no Luddite, but despite having a calendar running on my computer, I still find a "proper" physical calendar indespensible - and, certainly, with a busy quota of Campaigns ahead, I can see Aérojournal calendar proving very useful!
Please remember, when contacting retailers or manufacturers, to mention that you saw their products highlighted here - on AEROSCALE.
