With Revell of Germany having released their 1/32nd scale Focke Wulf FW 190 F-8 ‘Schlacter’ it has not taken Eduard long to release a whole slew of aftermarket offerings for the model. I have five upgrade sets for the Revell of Germany kit from Eduard covering a photo etched set for the interior, a photo etched set of landing flaps, a set of flexible masks for the canopy, a resin and photo etched set for the MG131 mounts and their cowling and finally a resin and photoetched cockpit, all of these items are specifically for the Revell of Germany offering in 1/32nd scale.

Review
This product from Eduard comes some way to adding some refined detail to the Revell of Germany 1/32nd scale Focke Wulf FW 190 F-8 ‘Schlacter’, it adds some nice detail to the side consoles and the instrument panel. The console details are the self adhesive type that are very easy to use as it basically only requires the raised detail to be removed and the self adhesive panels added. These details instantly add a very nice and professional look to the instrument panels. Eduard has also supplied the foot pedals for the models, which while not easily seen they may catch the viewer's eye. I cannot think of any faults with the self adhesive photo etched parts.
The other photo etched fret concentrates on the pilot's seat mounts, the area behind the pilot and the canopy detail. The details are very nice and add a good level of detail to the pilot's office, but the question that immediately jumps to my mind is; where are the harnesses for the pilot's seat, they are the one item that would really lift this area. I know that the seat harness are available as a separate purchase, but I would have expected them to be included with a set titled ‘interior’. I cannot take anything away from what is supplied as it is all very nice; sorry Eduard but I feel you fumbled the ball by not giving the modeller the ability to get rid of the decals supplied with the kit, decals just do not cut it in this large scale.
Conclusion
This offering is a very nice offering for the Revell of Germany 1/32nd scale Focke Wulf FW 190 F-8 ‘Schlacter’ from Eduard, it increases the detail nicely and in particular the control consoles. I do feel this offering should include the harness detail for the model as it is the biggest and most obvious detail that the base model does poorly regardless of the way the modeller opts to display their model. As such this is one of those products that cannot be faulted for what is in, but for what is not in the set.
SUMMARY
Highs: The self adhesive console details are a very nice and quick improvement over the base kit detail.Lows: Not including the harness detail in this set would seem to me to be a mistake.Verdict: This set does add some very nice detail to the office of the model, but make sure to pick up a set of harnesses to finish it off.
