For aircraft builders one of the issues is being able to give their models a sense of scale. There are a few but limited selection of figures available to the modeller, but these again tend to be mostly World War Two figures. Step forward Video Aviation.com who are releasing a steady stream of resin figures for the aircraft modeller in 1/32nd scale alongside ground equipment in the three main scales.
Contents
This offering from Video Aviation.com is very nicely packed in a clear blister pack. The contents are secured inside a Ziploc bag and wrapped with bubble wrap for further protection. Video Aviation.com has also gone to the trouble of providing a painting and assembly guide for the product. I also appreciate that they have clearly identified the included items.
Review
This offering from Video Aviation.com consists of two resin figures, one stood at ease the other working with a screwdriver in hand (perhaps locking a hatch cover. The figure stood at ease is supplied complete and the other needs to have the arms attached along with the screw driver. Moulding quality is good overall as there are no obvious flaws to deal with. There is of course a small amount of flash, this is usual with resin figures, but it is light and should be easy to remove/cleaned up.
The stance of the figures looks natural. The uniform detail is good overall with good soft crease detail through out. The figure stood at ease is wearing jacket and trousers and the figure with the screw driver is wearing a T-shirt and trousers.
The faces of the figures are soft detail wise as I have become use to well defined facial feature on resin figures. It is hard to explain, but anyone who has looked at 1/35th scale resin figures of a good quality will know that the faces just pop and these do not appear to do that, and they also look a little on the small side. The hands are however very well detailed and have excellent finger definition.
Conclusion
I do like these figures, with the one using the screw driver being my preferred one. This is because it will be easier, or should I say more natural to show a figure working on an aircraft rather than stood at ease by an aircraft. I have concerns about the faces and heads generally of these figures, but I will not be 100% certain until I get some paint on them. I do like the effort put into the hand detail of these offerings.
SUMMARY
Highs: The hands of these figures have been very well represented.Lows: The heads of these figures look a little small and the facial details look soft.Verdict: The figures have potential, with the figure using the screwdriver being my preferred offering.
