Introduction

For aircraft builders one of the issues is being able to give their models a sense of scale. There are a few but limited selection of figures available to the modeller, but these again tend to be mostly World War Two figures. Step forward Video Aviation.com who are releasing a steady stream of resin figures for the aircraft modeller in 1/32nd scale alongside ground equipment in the three main scales.

This offering from Video Aviation.com is very nicely packed in a clear blister pack. The contents are secured inside a Ziploc bag and wrapped with bubble wrap for further protection. Video Aviation.com has also gone to the trouble of providing a painting and assembly guide for the product. I also appreciate that they have clearly identified the included items.

Review

This offering from Video Aviation.com consists of two resin figures, one stood at ease the other saluting while stood at attention. The moulding of the figures is good as there are no obvious moulding faults present such as air bubbles that I can see. There is a small amount of flash present which is usual for resin figures. This flash is very fine and should be very easy to remove.

The figure stood at ease is supplied complete and only needs to be removed from its casting block. The other figure requires that the arms be attached along with a separate bag. The stances of both of these figures look to have been correctly replicated, but I am at a loss at this time as to how to utilise the stances in relation to an aircraft.

The uniform detail is very good and I like the look of it very much. The crease detail replicated is minimal, but due to the stances depicted this does look to be accurate to me. The proportions of these figures look better to my eye than other examples I have looked at, they look a more natural shape.

One area that I have been critical of when looking at figures from Video Aviation.com is the heads and facial features, these figures do not seem to suffer those issues as much, this is due to the head wear and goggles they are wearing covering most of the facial details, but the nose and mouth are still weakly defined. The hands of the figures are very good and have very good finger definition.

Conclusion

I do like these figures and they are perhaps the best offerings from Video Aviation.com that I have seen so far. I am a little confused as to how I can utilise the stances with a aircraft, but I am sure I will think of something. Having looked closely at these figures the heads are the only thing that lets them down.
