Introduction

Having already reviewed Eduard's re-boxed Hasegawa Crusader kit here, Eduard have released two Brassin sets to compliment and replace two areas that need attention in the base kit.
The exhaust nozzle and air intake sets are to replace the plastic parts in the base kit, and are made up of resin and photo etch parts.
Both sets are packed in the standard Eduard Brassin blister packs.
Resin parts, photo etch and a set of instructions are packed in both sets.

Crusader exhaust nozzle

The exhaust nozzle set is made up of four resin parts and two photo etch pieces.
Each resin part is connected to a casting block and will need to be removed. Where to cut is easy to see, but as most of the parts are fully connected to the casting block, a razor saw will be needed, along with some sanding to level things up.
Detail is stunning for the nozzle, and a lot more refined then the plastic offering. The exhaust tube is one part and has the afterburner ring and fan are made up of one resin part and the two photo etch parts. The kits basic exhaust fan and afterburner ring are moulded as one part inside the exhaust tube, so the detail is greatly enhanced with the Brassin offering.
Once assembled the whole exhaust tube slots into the back of the Crusader once the mounting lugs inside the two fuselage halves have been removed.
The instructions are easy to follow and paint numbers are supplied for the Mr Metal range of paints.

Crusader air intakes

The two air intakes replace the plastic parts in the kit, and are made up of two resin parts and two photo etch parts.
The resin parts are attached to a casting block by one end and along the mating point and should be very easy to remove.
The P.E parts are for the base of the resin intakes and fit onto the rear fuselage at the base of the fin, with the two intakes attached to them.
Detail is more exquisite, and the intakes are slightly bigger then the plastic parts, and will add to the detail.
The air intake has been opened up at the front, where on the plastic part the hole will need to be drilled out.
