Introduction
The Su-25 Grach, or known by NATO as the Frogfoot, is a two engine, single seat, close air support aircraft of the Soviet Union. Designed by Sukhoi in the early 1970's, the aircraft went into service between the late 1970's and early 1980's. The plane was used in Afghanistan by the Russians as well as the Iraqi's during both the Iran-Iraq and Persian Gulf Wars. It has also been flown by other countries including Czechoslovakia. A new 'In Detail' book from
WINGS & WHEELS PUBLICATIONS details the Su-25k as used by the Czech and Slovak Air Forces in the 1990's.

Review
The Su-25 Frogfoot has always been an interesting looking aircraft to me, and this latest book from
WINGS & WHEELS PUBLICATIONS covers the plane in full detail. The book is published in a 9.5" by 9" format and printed on glossy paper. All the images are in color and very well done. Plus there are lots of photographs in the book with some being full page while others are split.
This edition starts with a history of the Su-25 serving in the Czechoslovak and later the Czech Republic Air Forces, including a brief description on the acquisition of the aircraft and squadron distribution. The section includes some great pictures of the Su-25 along with some interesting looking camouflage patterns.
The detailed sections are then broken down into the following:
- History
- Czech Air Force
- Front Fuselage
- 30mm Gun Details
- Cockpit Details
- Fuselage Center Details
- Engine Details
- Top Fuselage Details
- Undercarriage Details
- Rear Fuselage Details
- Fuselage Details
- Fin and Tail-plane
- Main Wings
- Under-wing Weapons
Just as with the other 'In Detail' books from
WINGS & WHEELS PUBLICATIONS, this book does an excellent job showing off most, if not all, of the details about this interesting aircraft. The photographs show from many angles the details of the Su-25, making them a great asset to any modeler working to build and replicate a model of this plane.
Overview
