In-Box Review
F-16B Lithograph

by: Bryan Dewberry [ TIN_CAN ]

First Impression

Shipped in a sturdy poster tube, the 16"x20" lithograph arrived in mint condition from Twobobs World Headquarters out in California City, CA. The lithograph is printed on 100# low-glare, matte finish, archival paper which makes for a good sturdy print that is also appealing to the eye. The F-16B is depicted in the colors of the Air Force Flight Test Center along with the Air Force Material Command insignia on the tail fin. A few paragraphs of text are located in the center of the lithograph that describe the history of F-16B 78-0100. The artists signature also accompanied this print.

If I had one negative thing to say about the print, it would have to be the weight of the paper used. A heavier paper and this thing is perfect. It's great as is but this is just a personal opinion hence the rating of '9' in quality below.

Graphics

The three insignias on the lithograph are from the Air Force Material Command, 412th Test Wing and the USAF Test Pilot School. A fourth insignia is also depicted which states, "AD INEXPLORATA" which means "Toward the Unexplored", the motto of the Air Force Flight Test Center. The insignia's are bright, colorful and sharp with a drop-shadow effect that makes them leap off the page. If I didn't know any better, I would swear those insignia graphics are actually stickers because their so vibrant!

The graphic of the F-16 is top-notch. Every detail of the body is there including panel lines, access panels and rivets. Even the heat graduations on the burner can are there! The colors are strong and crisp where they need to be and suttle elsewhere, like on the smoked canopy.

The Verdict

Undoubtedley one of the best prints you can get for the money. Placed in a nice frame, this lithograph will make a nice addition to any office, study or hobby room. I recommend this print to any fan of the F-16 or a fan of aviation in general. Combine this print with free shipping in the USA and the included decals of the F-16 Test Vipers and this is a steal of a deal.

A special thanks goes out to Twobobs Aviation Graphics for providing this review sample.

I modeled planes for about 3 or 4 years before joining the Navy in 1990 and then took a 12-year break from the hobby before starting back-up again last fall. Man has it changed since I'v...
