Review

Black Ops Models continue to offer great accessories for modern helicopters and other subjects. They recently release a set of two pilots to go along with their AH/MH-6M conversion sets.

The kit contains two seated modern pilots molded into their seats with separate arms cast in polyester resin. One is flying and the other is looking at a map. It also includes four heads/helmets from Live-Resin. These allow the choice of either the HGU/56P Rotary Wing Aircrew Helmet with lowered visor or equipped with 84/P Maxillofacial shield. Both types have mounts for NVGs, but the NVGs are not included.

The pilots are wearing current two-piece Aviator ACU uniforms and AirSafe ballistic vests. They are very nicely molded and have fine details. They are detailed down to the correct tread pattern on the soles of their boots. Very nicely done.

The two pilots are molded into seats that are designed to fit into the Dragon AH-6J kit, which is what Black Ops uses for their AH/MH-6M conversion sets. They will most likely fit in the Kitty Hawk AH/MH/-6J kits as well. By molding them into the seats, they achieve a very natural look and show their weight well. The figures do not float above the seat like some others do. With some work, you could probably remove the seats and use them in other modern helicopters as well.

SUMMARY
Highs: Very nicely molded and laid out well. These look really nice when done.
Lows: None really noted. The seats being molded on precludes them from being used in other aircraft types. They still should be usable in Dragon or Kitty Hawk's AH/MH-6 kits.
Verdict: A great set of modern Little Bird pilots. Another winner from Black Ops Models.
