New from Euro Decals comes a sheet of excellent decals for the Gloster Meteor FR.9 in 1:72 and 1:48 that will leave modellers spoilt for choice with markings for no less than eight “Meatboxes”.
The decals are beautifully printed by Fantasy Printshop, with pin-sharp registration on the thin gloss-finished items. The carrier film is crystal clear, trimmed tightly around markings such as the roundels. The fuselage flashes in squadron colours are printed separate from the roundels with clear areas to keep everything lined up.
The selection offers modellers plenty of variety, with machines finished in natural metal and camouflage, along with the colourful return to flamboyant squadron markings following their disappearance during WWII.
The sheet is packed with individual markings for each scheme, leaving room for just a single set of national insignia. If you need more, Fantasy Printshop offer sets of RAF roundels as parts of their extensive range.
Backing everything up is a nicely produced A5 booklet. Each scheme is illustrated with colour 4-view drawings with paint matches for F.S., Humbrol, Xtracrylix, Xtracolor, ModelMaster and Lifecolor where possible.
The decals are available now from Fantasy Printshop: ED 72116 Gloster Meteor FR. Mk. 9 - £8.95
ED 74116 Gloster Meteor FR. Mk. 9 - £13.95
Conclusion
Euro Decals have timed the release of this excellent set perfectly to coincide with Airfix's new 1:48 Meteor FR.9, while the 1:72 sheet offers fresh inspiration for anyone tackling the MPM kit.
