Iliad Design have released a new set of decals for the MiG-21F-13 in 1:48, offering no less than seven very attractive colour schemes for a variety of the many foreign air forces that flew the Soviet fighter and its licence-built counterparts.

The review decals are flawlessly printed, with pin-sharp registration and vibrant colours. The items are very thin and glossy, with minimal excess carrier film. Where Iliad Design have used carrier film to group elements together, it is so thin and crystal clear, it should be invisible if the decals are applied correctly.

The aircraft featured are:
1. The first Shenyang J-7 "2210" of the PLAAF in its roll-out markings
2. Iraqi MiG-21F-13 which defected to Israel in 1966
3. Avia S-106 of the Syrian Air Force around 1973
4. Albanian Air Force MiG-21F-13 "0207" in post-Communist markings
5. Egyptian (United Arab Republic) Air Force MiG-21F-13 involved in the Six Day War
6. Avia S-106) "110" in Czech markings and an all-red Aviation Day scheme in 1966
7. North Korean MiG-21F-13 "711" in the mid 1960s

The decals are backed up by a full-colour A4 sheet of instructions, with high quality side profiles and plan views. Captions point out details of each scheme, and Iliad Design give nearest FS equivalents for the colours used where possible.

Sheet #48034 is available now from hobby shops, or direct from Iliad Design - Price: $12.00

Conclusion
This is a great set of decals for anyone looking for attractive alternative schemes for a quarterscale kit of an early MiG-21 or one of the licence-built versions.

I mostly concentrate on WW2 subjects, although I'm also interested in WW1, Golden Age aviation and the early Jet Age - and have even been known to build the occas...
