Review
For World War 2 German aircraft fans,
Exito Decals has produced a new set of decals covering three different aircraft used in the ground attack role. The decals printed in 1/48 scale contain full set markings for a Ju 87 D-3, Hs 129 B-2, and Fw 190 F-8. As with other
Exito Decals they are printed by Cartograph, and as usual look very well done. The decals are printed in great looking color, sharp, and all in register.
As with all previous releases the painting and marking scheme are printed double-sided on card stock. Printed in full color, with one side showing the side view, and the back side showing the top and bottom views. These painting and marking schemes almost look like art work that you could hang on your walls. Paint references are for Mr. Hobby and AK Interactive.
Exito Decals does seem to do a lot of research into their decals release, as some markings schemes include actual photograph of the aircraft as well as references. There are also notes included about specifics for the aircraft.
Marking Options:
- Junkers Ju 86 D-3, W.Nr.100082, coded "T6 HN", 5./StG.2, Achtirskaya, USSR, early Summer 1942
- Henschel Hs 129 B-2, W.Nr.140405, coded "<▲ H", 4.(Pz)/Sch.G.1, USSR, Summer 1943
- Focke-Wulf Fw 190 F-8, coded Winkel Dreieck, Maj. Theodor Nordmann, Kommandeur II./SG 3, Riga-Spive, Latvia August 1944
Summary
For German aircraft fans this is a great set of 1/48 scale marking from
Exito Decals. Covering ground attack aircraft from the Eastern theatre, these markings will produce a very great looking and interesting model. Being well printed and researched I would definitely recommend this set.
