Introduction
The Messerschmitt Bf 109, also known as the Me109, was a mainstay fighter aircraft for the German Luftwaffe during World War 2. First seeing operational service during the Spanish Civil War, the aircraft went on to serve through World War 2. During that time almost 34,000 aircraft were built of varying variants. The G-10 was one of the last variants to go into production, between October 1944 and March 1945, with more the 2600 built.
A new set of decals from
Exito Decals provides some nice looking marking options for these late war G-10’s.

Review
As per previous releases from
Exito Decals, this new set comes in a clear plastic sleeves with stiff card stock to prevent damage. Inside the sleeve are three very nice looking painting and marking guides and a sheet of decals printed by Cartograph.
The painting and marking guides are printed in full color and two sided on card stock. The first side containing an art-like side view drawings of the specific aircraft. On the back side, the details required for painting and marking the aircraft. As with previous releases from
Exito decals, reference information and/or black and white images of the aircraft are included. The marking guide provides easy to see and follow layout of the decals to be applied. Paint references included for the three aircraft include paint matches for AK Interactive and Mr. Hobby.
As for the decals, well being printed by Cartograph, what else needs to be said. They look great, with good color and all in register. Being German subject and the decals coming out of Europe I was a little surprised to see full Swastikas present, but they are there, as well as “halved” versions.
What really amazes me about
Exito Decals is what looks to be a great amount of research put into the subject, providing great accurate looking markings. This set even includes a very interesting subject, that being a Yugoslavia marking set for an aircraft that flew into the 1950’s.
Included in this set are markings for:
- W.Nr.61xxxx, coded ‘Black 5’, 5./JG 52, Hungary March 1945, flown by Obit. Fritz Naschster
- Nr.611023, coded ‘White 45’, 83.LAP,Yugoslavia, October 1950, flown by kap Franc Rupnik
- W.Nr.61xxx8, coded Yellow 6, 6./JG 52, Ainring, Germany, May 1945
Summary
For Bf 109 fans this looks be a great set of decals from
Exito Decals. This set includes marking for three interesting subjects, including a very interesting Yugoslavia bird. The decals are very well printed, and the art like painting and marking guide will definitely help you produce a great looking Bf 10 G-10. Highly recommended.
