The Company

"Plus Model was established in 1990 in the Czech Republic. Our product range is comprised primarily of 1/35th scale resin kits, conversion sets, and accessories which are vacuum cast from polyurethane plastic." ~PM~

They also offer a wide variety of interesting products in other scales.
The Product

You can always count on Plus Model to ship their products professionally, knowing they will go around the world. Heavy cardboard, thick plastic and low density foam helped these wheels make it to me in great shape.

Made of good quality resin these highly detailed aftermarket wheels and tires are a substantial upgrade from the Hasegawa plastic, as you can see by the photos. If I over did it with the number of shots, well that's tough cuz it's my article and I'm straining my pea brain to fill in as many lines and photo spots as can be. HA HA. But seriously, even at a quick glance the obvious becomes clear.

I thought you might like a Quick Build on these so here's the procedure. First, everything got a wash in warm soapy water, though I doubt it needed it. Second, the treasures got snipped and weighted, Plus Model don't bulge tires, but there is zero clean-up needed on these! Third, Tamiya lacquer insignia white went down, lacquers were used for fast drying and a quicker review. Forth, came in the Flex-I-File circle cutter, dandy item and way better than the Olfa because you can make really small circles. Fifth, I sprayed AK Xtreme aluminum for the beauty rings, my aircraft will have this style. Sixth, was another mask and the Tamiya rubber black, well for obvious reasons. And Finally, Tamiya black panel line accent for the first stage of the dirty look, later engine grease will add a bit more to the appearance.

I've also included a picture of the different packaging you might find under the Aero Line" branding.
The Conclusion

Very few companies offer upgrades for this well loved kit. Definitely showing its age it's nice to see products from Plus Model to revive it. And at under twelve bucks it's really tough to argue with that!

Very special thanks to the good people at Plus Model for sending this sample for review and build. You'll see them again in the future build of the Neptune.

Special thanks as well to Sunwardhobbies.ca and Sunward1.com for supplying most of the paint and of course to YOU for taking the time to have a look.
