When Kangnam released their 1/35th AH-64D Apache #27000, they missed out adding in a revised cockpit. Eduard stepped up with their release of a colorful 71 piece photo-etch set, item # 33011
The two page instruction sheet is easy to follow with no challenging step. The instructions have you sanding of all the raised detail on the cockpit instrument panels, and then gluing on the replacement panels and a full range of analog, digital and video instrument displays.
Another nice feature to the set is that it’s pre-painted, it has the look as if it’s switched on and ready for flight.
Conclusion
Using this photo-etch set alone will not give you and accurate AH-64D, but will put in the right step as the Kangnam kit has some flaws with it’s fit and wrong sized sponsors. So if you're up to the challenge, and with a little work and scratch building, the Eduard Apache 'D cockpit set is worth getting.
As if that’s not enough, Eduard also has put out an additional photo-etch sets. An armament set, # 32110 price $22.95, an exterior set, # 32095 price $24.95 and a full interior complete with cockpit instrument panels, seat detail with seat harnesses and photo-etch detail for the cockpit tub, # 32094 price $24.95
Thank you to Eduard for kindly supplying the review sample.
