Introduction
Monogram's 1/48 scale B-26 Marauder is a nice kit (see the review of the Revell reboxing
here ). However it was released in the late 70' and misses details in some places. Eduard have recently released a serie of photoetched references to improve the kit and amongst them there is a
B-26 Marauder seatbelts set (49029)
The set
Eduard's new B-26 Marauder seatbelts set comes in the standard packaging of the Czech manufacturer: a resealable plastic bag with cardboard sheets to prevent the metal sheetings from damage. The set is composed of one small pre-painted photoetched fret and an A5 sized instruction sheet.
The seatbelts which are present on the fret are meant to go on the pilot and navigator seat as well as in the dorsal turret. There are no attachments provided for the rear gunner or the side gunners but I must be honest and say that I don't know how they look like or if there were any in the real plane (I suppose yes).
One could wonder why this seatbelts set wasn't provided in the Interior set (49372). Well it make sense since not every modeller wants to hyper-detail his model and quite a lot only add seatbelts to improve realism. This reference can also be purchased by them.
The quality and detail is very good, typical of what Eduard usually produces. Every modeller who already used PE Seatbelts made by the Czech manufacturer knows what I'm talking about.
Instructions
The instructions are printed on a small A5 sized paper sheet and show how the PE pieces have to be assembled and folded with precise drawings.
Conclusion
This is a usefull reference for Monogram's old 1:48 scale Marauder kit. I recommend it to anyone wanting to add that little something to the venerable B-26 model.
