The Kit
Eduard's RAF WWII Personnel figure set comes in their standard top opening cardboard box. In it there are two dark tan plastic sprues and an instruction sheet.

With what is provided on the two plastic trees, you can assemble six crew members doing various maintenance work. Well, maybe "work" isn't the right word since most of the figures have a somewhat lazy attitude. In fact, these figures are the opposite, dynamically speaking, of the previous RAF Fighter Crew set by the same manufacturer (see review here). Therefore mixing them together will be very difficult but this is not a bad thing, since it offers other diorama possibilities.

I couldn't resist to take some close-up photos of the box artwork. The heads are particularly noteworthy! The artist seem to have been inspired by the movie "Lords of the Ring"... fortunately the heads are more conventional on the plastic figures.

The overall moulding quality is typical of Eduard. If you already have an Eduard figure kit, you won't be surprised. The figures are molded is several pieces (two legs, torso, two arms and the head) and this doesn't make the assembly easy as some filling will be necessary. I found sink marks on some torsos but nothing too dramatic. In fact it is less than in other Eduard figures sets.

There is no additional PE fret in this figure set, despite the fact that ammunition belts are represented on the cover artwork. It is often the case that what is provided in the box don't match the illustration in the Eduard figures sets but in this case it is rather misleading. In fact only a softly molded oil dispenser and two wheel chocks are provided as "bonus" parts and this is quite disappointing, especially if you compare this set to older ones by the same manufacturer (Luftwaffe and Japanese set).

Conclusion
This is an interesting figures set, especially if you already have the RAF Fighter Crew set. But you get less for the same price when you compare this one to some older references produced by Eduard. An additional PE fret with ammunition belts and tools would have been nice in this case. However if you want to do a bucolic RAF WWII diorama, this set is an appropriate one.
SUMMARY
Highs: Good overall quality.
Lows: Some sink marks. No pilot figure. No additional PE fret.
Verdict: This set is recommended if you need ground crew figures for a RAF WWII diorama.
