Parts are supplied for 2 aircrew and 4 groundcrew, plus a table, some bombs, an ammunition bin and a machine gun. The parts are cleanly moulded in hard plastic. The detail is quite good and the separate heads and arms will allow some variation in poses. There are sink marks on some of the torsos.
Some of the sprue attachments are pretty hefty, so some careful work is needed to remove the parts cleanly. The figures' poses are quite natural, although the groundcrew are, perhaps, more convincing than the officers.
An unusual feature is the addition of an etched fret. This features epaulettes, straps, tools, gunsights and belts of ammunition. It's debatable whether the ammunition is suitably 3-dimensional for this scale, but its inclusion is a nice touch.
SUMMARY
Not many manufacturers produce injection-moulded figures in 1/48, so Eduard's new set is a welcome addition to the ranks.
