The latest among Radu Rinzan's growing range of excellent aftermarket etched upgrades is a very useful set of 1:32 Luftwaffe rudder pedals. The small brass fret contains 3 basic styles of pedals, plus optional tread plates to bring the total up to five. Even without the add-ons, each pedal is a delicate multi-part affair, with separate heel supports and toe-straps. What really sets these upgrades apart from the other etched pedals I've seen is that, whereas aftermarket pedals commonly just attach to the plastic stubs of the stand kit mounts, Radu has also included mounting brackets too.
The etching is perfect and the brass is quite thin, so shaping the parts should be quite simple. The parts are accompanied by a small sheet of instructions which combine written notes on how to work with etched brass, plus captioned photos of the completed pedals. You'll need your own references to decide which style of pedal is appropriate for the aircraft type you're building - and remember, many Luftwaffe aircraft changed the type of pedal used in the course of their production.
RB Productions Luftwaffe are excellent. Very affordable, and not too complicated for newcomers to etched sets, they'll provide a huge enhancement to any kit that has styrene pedals. Highly recommended.
Please remember, when contacting retailers or manufacturers, to mention that you saw their products highlighted here - on AEROSCALE.
