Background

The Bv 155 was based on the Messerschmitt Me 155 high altitude fighter project. The first flight was on February 1945. After this, two other test flights were made before the end of the WWII. Only one prototype was completed, and it was damaged during a landing by a RAF pilot after capture. Some parts of this plane was sent to Farnborough in November 1945. Today, some parts, can be seen in the National Air & Space Museum in Maryland.

The kit

The kit comes in a side opening cardboard box. Inside there is a Ziploc bag with all the individual parts. It´s an all resin kit with metal parts, like landing gear legs, propeller blades, landing gear doors, cockpit seat and others. The kit consist of:

17 x beige resin parts
18 x metal parts
2 x vacuformed canopies (1 spare)
No decals

The resin parts has a relative good finish surface, but it’s a little rough and with some bubbles, but nothing you can´t repair with some putty. A good point is that all the parts come ready-separated so you practically don´t need to do any cutting. The fuselage comes as just two main parts, a little heavy, so perhaps it´s a good idea to sand some resin from the inside, but of course the landing gear legs are in metal.

The instructions consist of only one sheet of paper, with no diagrams. They are only written instruction, and certainly not for beginners. There’s no numbered parts diagram, only a list with the name of each one.

Test fit & construction

The different parts looks to fit together well. Although the instructions are not very clear, there aren’t lots of pieces, so the kit should be relatively easy to build. As I said, there aren´t any decals included, and no painting instructions are provided either.
