Pavla Models have released a comprehensive range of resin accessories for Hobby Boss's Westland Lynx kits, from a complete new cockpit, to new undercarriage units and BERP blades.

The full list is as follows:

C72084 - Lynx HAS.2 Cockpit - Price: 9.25
S72052 - Lynx Seats - Price N/K
S72053 - Lynx Export Version Seats - Price N/K

U72107 - Lynx HAS.2 Undercarriage - Price: 4.25
U72108 - Lynx HAS.2 (FN)Undercarriage - Price: 4.25
U72109 - Lynx Late-Version Undercarriage - Price: 4.25
U72110 - BERP Blades - Price: 5.75

Set C72084 is among the most detailed resin cockpits that I've yet seen in this scale, and totally replaces the kit's "office". It comprises 22 beautifully cast dark grey resin pieces, with no sign of bubbles or other problems, and just some very light "flash" around smaller parts to remove before assembly.

The heart of the set is a one-piece combined floor/rear bulkhead with an integral control console. Separate roof and side panels feature nicely rendered padding and the new resin seats are excellent, with detailed rear faces as well as convincing cushions and cast-on harnesses. Delicate flying controls, a well detailed instrument panel and a two-part winch assembly complete the cockpit, and the set is accompanied by excellent instructions, with finely drawn diagrams and a comprehensive painting guide.

Off the back of this main set, Pavla have also released two styles of seats that are available separately - "standard" and "export". Note: Set 72 084 comes complete with the standard type.

Undercarriage upgrades
To reflect the large number of Lynx sub-variants, Pavla have produced a trio of undercarriage detail sets -

The sets are basically identical, comprising 8 parts, with nicely cast main and nose wheels, torque links, but differently detailed stub wings as appropriate. The sets are intended to be used with the Hobby Boss gear legs without modification and so no instructions are included.

Rotor blades
Last but not least there a set of new BERP blades. The casting is nice, with impressively small attachment points and not a bubble in sight. I did notice though that the sample blades have a slightly rough texture, so I'd definitely recommend polishing them before painting.

Pavla Models range of Lynx accessories is very impressive. The cockpit, in particular, is a real gem that should look superb with careful painting to brink out all the detail. Recommended.

Please remember, when contacting retailers or manufacturers, to mention that you saw their products highlighted here - on AEROSCALE.
Highs: Excellent detail and casting.
Verdict: Pavla Models' Lynx upgrades are a straightforward and affordable way to spruce up the Hobby Boss Lynx.

I mostly concentrate on WW2 subjects, although I'm also interested in WW1, Golden Age aviation and the early Jet Age - and have even been known to build the occas...

They do look gorgeous, and the detail is so crisp I reckon they could pass for 1/48th upgrades. Andy
