MC.200 PE flaps

Eduard's 1:48 scale MC.200 landing flaps set comes in a small plastic bag and is composed of one PE fret protected by a cardboard sheet to prevent it from damage. One A5 size instruction sheet is present as well.

The fret is composed of only 16 parts. Four are rather big and will have to be bended to shape using the appropriate tools (Etch Mate or flat pliers). However, having worked with Eduard PE flaps before, I can say that they are easy to assemble into a very realistic representations of the real ones. One just has to be very careful not to use too much cyanoacrylate glue when putting the parts together.

Of course, incorporating the new parts into the original kit will require some preparation work and this will represent the most tedious task as some plastic will have to be grinded away to make some room for the new flaps. This is well explained in the instructions though they are in black & white, but a color version can be downloaded at the Eduard website if necessary.

Conclusion

If you want to represent the flaps of your 1:48 scale Italeri MC.200 kit in the lowered position, no need to search any longer, you won't find anything better than this reference. Highly recommended as always!
