Master Aviation Photographer Philip Makanna has a dream job -- going aloft to photograph some of the most extraordinary and exciting aircraft flying today. This he does to produce the GHOSTS series calenders of restored and replica WWI and WW2 aircraft. And he still does so, even after a crash in a T-6, from which he pulled the pilot from the burning wreck!
GHOSTS not only produces calenders, they also issue hardbound books, archival photographs, screensavers, and audio CDs of these aeronautical treasures.
content
Each calender includes 12 of these amazing photographs. This review is certainly a picture paints a thousand words review. Mr. Makanna's artistic ability and eye for aircraft are simply stunning. You do not get just an airplane profile with a sky background. These images put one in the cockpit.
One scene is a staged dogfight between an FE.2b and a Pfalz D.IIIa!
Highlights of the calender are:
• Each month is suitable for framing.
• Each page features a chronological history of the aviation events of WWI.
• Silhouettes and data on the featured aircraft is included.
• Large format 20 inches by 14 inches display opens to 20 inches by 28 inches.
conclusion
I have never been disappointed with a GHOSTS calender. Daily they have brought great enjoyment and I certainly recommend them. At only $14.95 they are a steal!
