This Zoom Set by Eduard is contained in a small resealable transparent bag. The fairly stiff cardboard inside provide some protection for the contents.
Contents.
The single pre coloured photo etched fret contains parts to improve the look of the rather sparse looking cockpit of the A Model Vampire Mk.6. The Eduard parts are intended to supplement the kit parts.
The kit seat must be cut down a little to allow the fitting of the etched head support. Also included for the seat are some beautifully detailed lap and shoulder harnesses. The stitching and buckles are very well done.
The instrument panel supplied by Eduard is made up of two pieces. The part with the instrument faces printed on it is attached to the kit instrument panels. The representation of the instruments need to be removed from the kit part. The instrument panel is then attached over the instruments. The instruments themselves are so well printed that it is easy to recognise some of the instruments such as the attitude and turn indicators and the RMI. Great stuff, worth the price of this release alone. Also included for the cockpit are the side console for the starboard side, a couple of boxes, created by folding the parts, rudder pedals, foot rests, what looks like a magnetic compass to fit just below the gun sight and various levers and a trim wheel.
A little bonus with this release is the inclusion of torsional links for the main undercarriage legs. These will require bending before fitting.
The black line drawings illustrate along with the key symbols simply and effectively the build process. Instructions provides information about which kit parts to use and any modifications needed.
Conclusions.
Although there are only 23 parts included with this release, it will increase the detail in the A Model Vampire cockpit immeasurably. The quality of the etching and the printing is superb. Nice one Eduard.
