The seats come in generic packaging which includes useful notes on how to prepare resin parts, plus simple assembly notes and general painting instructions. Because there's so much potential colour variation, True Details advise modellers to check references for the individual seat being modelled, so I had a look at
The Ejection Site which has plenty of really useful colour photos of a restored Mk-7, plus illustrations taken from an F-4F manual. The photos confirm that the detail on the resin seats is just about spot on and give all the info needed to get stuck into an accurate paint-job.
Conclusion
This is a simple set - there's only 3 parts per seat - but straight out of the packet the detail here is far above that found on the seats supplied in most kits. Super-detailers may still want to add a few items, such as leg restraints and various hoses, but these seats represent very good value for money and the basis is here for an eye-popping Phantom cockpit.
