The Contents

This latest set from Eduard is for the recent release from Hobby Boss of the Grumman F-14A Tomcat and consists of the following eleven parts:
• Windscreen including side panels
• Main canopy front section
• Main canopy rear section
All the parts are of the pre-cut yellow Kabuki type and nothing needs to be added for this material that’s not already been said in any other review. As usual for this type of product it all arrives in an plastic envelope type package with the bottom section clear to allow the purchaser to see the product inside, on the bottom edge of the reverse side is a reseal able flap to allow access to the contents.
The windscreen comprises three parts, the front as one piece and each side panel as another separate piece. The main canopy is dealt with by using two side pieces for the front and again for the rear plus two piece’s to form around the top re-inforcing (?) bars for the front and rear part of the canopy. The user then needs to fill the gap between the masks with your preferred choice of liquid mask.

The Instructions
These fold out to a roughly A5 size sheet and show via diagrams the locations of the parts both on the backing sheet and also as to the intended location on the kit canopy. This is easy to follow and should not cause any confusion even for the less experienced modeller, just take your time to align the parts correctly.

In Conclusion
For those out there that like to use pre-made masks then this is nothing new, but if you’re building the Hobby Boss F-14A then it should be on your list of extras to help improve or finish the kit.
SUMMARY
Highs: Pre-cut masks that are easy to use
Lows: None of note
Verdict: Highly recommended for ease of use, and the easiest way to mask the canopy.

Ok, firstly I build what ever takes my fancy however I mainly build 1/350 WWII era ships mainly cruisers and any aircraft. However my favourite aircraft being the mighty Beaufighter, Sepecat Jaguar, Hawker Hunter, Fw-190 and the Su-27 family. I also like wheeled armour like the Stryker and Centauro ...
