Contents.

Eduards very useful range of die cut paint masks now includes one for Eduards own 1/48 MiG 21 MF Weekend Edition. Being a Weekend Edition there are no masks included with the kit. With this release you have masks for kit parts including:

-Canopy.
-Windscreen.
-Electronic surfaces on the top of the fin and leading edges of the wings.
-HUD projector lens.
-Rear view periscope on the canopy.
-Landing lights.
Along with:
-A5 sheet of instructions

If like me you have the superb looking Weekend End Edition of the MiG-21 MF release in your stash or are planning to invest in the next release, then this release by Eduard is worth considering. It should not be a complicated process attaching them, there are only 17 masks in this set. The masks for the windscreen and canopy are split into components to avoid the kinks in the masks trying to blend one piece masks. There are two masks for the canopy, and five for the windscreen. There is also masks for the HUD projector in the instrument panel hood, the periscope that sis on top of the canopy and also for the two landing lights. There are also very useful masks for the electronic panels on the fin and the leading edges of the wings [usually coloured green].
Contents come in a small semi resealable bag, reinforced with stiff cardboard. Comprehensive instructions are included taking you through the stages of applying the pre-cut Kabuki masks. Care will be needed taking the pre-cut masks away from the backing sheet. I always try to take of the excess Kabuki tape so that you can see the masks better. Keep the excess to one side. Some liquid mask or using any excess kabuki tape is needed to fill in any areas that need further masking. A light rub to make sure the masks are secure and then just spray on your paint. Remove the masks when paint is dry and hey presto you should have beautifully sharp edges. A very convenient way of creating a sharper looking MiG-21
Conclusions.

A very convenient of making the most of this excellent kit. If you are like me and your modeling time is limited then this set of paint masks will be a godsend. Nice one Eduard.
