1/48Yak–38 M Resin Cockpit
Contents are placed in a clear plastic vac formed blister. Content includes:
-Full one piece cockpit tub.
-K-36VM Ejection Seat
-Instrument panel.
-Rudder pedals.
-Control stick.
-Additional detailing.
-2 x small sheets of instructions.

Cockpit tub: is one piece and is superbly detailed. The instruments, switches and the detail on the rear bulkhead are exquisitely done. I particularly like the rivet and panel line detail on the floor of the cockpit. Some surgery to the Hobby Boss kit is necessary in that the instrument hood needs removing, something most modelers will be capable of doing. The cockpit tub is cast onto a block that needs removing.
K-36VM seat: Is beautifully made and cast. Seat straps and harnesses are cast onto the seat. Unfortunately the seat activation handle located between the pilots legs had broken off the seat. Fortunately it was contained within the packaging and can be easily refitted. Some care will be needed detaching the seat from its casting block as some delicate parts could be damaged.
Instrument panel The low relief detail including screens and buttons is very well done. The panel is cast along with the instrument hood, the hood includes some exquisite detailing such as the HUD frame. You will need to scratch build the HUD screen from clear plastic. The clear blister packaging would be ideal for this. There is a very thin film of flash across the leg space of the instrument panel. There are additional parts for the instrument panel, including gear up/down lever and a unidentified piece that fits next to the HUD.
Rudder pedals & Control Stick: they might be tiny, but the detail is very good. The pedals come in two parts and I really like the detail on the control stick.
Instruction Sheets the black line drawings and written instructions are very clear as is the paint guidance. The area of the kits cockpit that needs removing to fit the cockpit is clearly marked.

Conclusion

A small amount of work is necessary to fit the cockpit set to the kit, but will be well worth the work. Some careful painting and highlighting will really bring out the wonderful detail. The K-36 seat is superb.
