Contents:

-2 x pre coloured photo etched frets.
-1 x none coloured photo etched fret.
-1 x clear acetate sheet.
The photo etched parts replace or supplement the kit parts.

The unpainted fret There is an incredible amount of intricate work visible on this sheet. A seat is included on this fret, some folding is required to create it. There are additional PE parts including the lumbar cushion and two separate sides featuring a multi part seat adjustment lever and ratchet. The flare rack is a one piece affair which will need folding. The armor plating behind the seat is separate. There are additional PE parts for the seat support as well complementing the kit parts. The control stick has photo etched cables amongst other thing to add to it. The windscreen and canopy have around nine parts to add, including supplementary parts for the kits mirror. There is lots more on this fret. The unpainted photo etched fret is not self adhesive.

The pre painted frets The instrument panel has some lovely detail, with finely defined instrument faces. The instrument panel is made up from three pieces, the centrally mounted blind flying instrument panel is a separate part. Onto the instrument panel is added the gun sight and compass mount, both of which needs to be carefully folded. The gun sight from the kit is supplemented with several photo etched parts. The body of the compass needs to be scratch built from plastic rod or sprue. The face of the compass is finely printed.
Other pre painted parts include throttle and propeller control quadrant, elevator and rudder trim, undercarriage lever, map box detail, fuel control switch, and much much more. The pre painted Sutton harness replaces the rather simplistic un painted PE parts of the kit. The Eduard Sutton harness also includes the wire cables that connect the harness to the fuselage. To build the harness will require close attention to the instructions as it's quite complex, it's created from twelve parts with some gently folding to give a draped look on the kits seat. Your patience will be rewarded with a great looking and very important detail of the cockpit.

The clear acetate sheet has four black square outlines printed on it. These represent the gunsights. There are two different sizes marked “A” and “B”, “B” is used with the Hobby Boss kit.

As with any pre coloured photo etched parts it always prudent to apply a coat or two of a varnish of your choice to fix the printed areas. Eduard strongly advise that you do not touch the adhesive at the back of the parts. Always leave the parts on the backing sheet until it's time to apply the self adhesive photo etched parts.

Conclusions:

This is a tremendous cockpit detail set for the Hobby Boss Spitfire Mk.Vb / Tropical and will certainly enhance the cockpit detail in the kit. Nice one Eduard.
