Photo Etched parts There are a number of parts to detail the main undercarriage bays, undercarriage and undercarriage doors. Each main gear bay has three PE parts providing detailed panels for the inside of the bays. The main undercarriage oleos have PE torque links, brake pipes, main spar attachment detail as well as a extension to the mud guard fitted to the tail wheel. Each undercarriage door has PE actuators and there are hinges for the tail wheel doors.
The dive brakes are direct replacements for the kit parts and can be displayed open or closed. The under fuselage antennae are also direct replacements. These look particularly delicate so exercise some care when removing them from the fret.. The fairing for the wing mounted landing light is a nice inclusion. Of course this will need to be folded to match the curve of the wings leading edge.
The aileron and flap actuators look particularly good and are a replacement for the kit parts. Eduard have included a crew ladder with this release and it requires careful bending. It looks a bit two dimensional, but will save a lot of effort scratch building it.
I think everybody will appreciate the inclusion on the fret of the fins and braces for the bombs, and bless their cotton socks Eduard have thoughtfully provided a couple of jigs to help the modeler align the PE fins correctly. The bomb fins are each made up from two parts, the fins slide into tiny slots. Depending on which bomb you are using there are PE straight or circular fin braces.
Instructions the black line drawings and symbols help enormously with what to do with the parts and where exactly to place them. Eduard also include the Revell kit part numbers that receive the additional detail.
Conclusions
If you have the Revell 1/72 JU 88A-4 then this set will be invaluable to help you super detail the kit. Nothing to difficult to put together, the most challenging will be shaping the landing light fairing to the correct shape of the leading edge. Nice release Eduard
