Pavla Models has released a resin cockpit set including an MB.Mk F10Q ejector seat. If you are happy with the kits cockpit detail, the ejector seat is available separately. These release are designed to be used with Eduard and Heller kits

Contents:

Mirage 2000 cockpit set
Everything is contained within a transparent vac formed plastic blister. The very delicate small parts are contained within a small plastic bag for extra security.

-21 x resin parts
-1 x small sheet of acetate.
-2 x small sheets of instructions.

The Cockpit tub looks simply stunning. The knobs and switches on the side consoles are nicely reproduced. The complex detail behind the pilot’s seat is extremely well done. The generous undercuts around the cables and hoses makes them look as if they stand proud from the rest of the detail. The mesh texture of the two boxes just behind the pilots head looks very convincing. The casting block is attached to the rear bulkhead, so you simply need to cut it away. There is no need to clean up the cut.
The cockpit walls are two separate parts that are attached to the plastic walls of the kit. The plastic walls do need to be reduced in thickness to accommodate the new cockpit parts. The detail is very well done.
The instrument panel looks quite superb with the dials, switches and screen in low relief and will certainly benefit with some careful painting and highlighting. There is some convincing honeycomb texture covering the hood of the instrument panel. One of the HUD mounts was broken on my sample, but the broken part was safely contained in the packaging. It should be no problem to repair. Pavla Models supply a couple of HUD screens on the small acetate sheet. They are both fitted to the HUD mount. The instrument panel has a small casting block to remove as well as three very thin flow channels.
The Martin Baker MB.Mk F10Q ejector seat looks superb. There is plenty of lovely detail including harnesses, harness fastenings, cushions and seat firing rings. Other details that are worth mentioning is the oxygen hose, the framework of the seat and the textured cushions. The rails on the back of the seats are also reproduced in great detail. The seat has a small casting block that needs to be removed before fitting into the tub. This is one of the best looking resin ejector seats I have ever seen in my hands.
Other bits included with this release are a separate control stick, rudder pedals, throttle lever, handles and a mirror for the canopy and various small levers.
The instructions: have detailed black line drawings with English and Czech written instructions. There is some very fine draughtsmanship evident leaving you in no doubt what goes where. There are lots of helpful colour references for the instruments and seats. Some surgery is required to the kit to enable the fitting of the resin parts. The cockpit walls need reducing in thickness from the inside. The kits instrument panel hood needs to be completely removed.

Conclusions:

This is a high quality release from Pavla Models and will certainly create an impressive cockpit for the Eduard or Heller kit of the Mirage 2000. The creator of this gem deserves a pat on the back for their efforts.
