Eduard has released a seat belt set for the Hobby Boss 1/32 scale F-84. The title does not do the release justice as there quite a few PE parts to detail what I think is the later bang seat as fitted to the F-84G. The seat belts are pre coloured and can be used on the Hobby Boss F-84E/G.

The single fret is contained in a semi re sealable clear plastic package. The instructions are printed on the two sides of an A4 sheet. As already mentioned the parts on the fret are not just for the seat belts or harnesses, but there are a number of parts to detail the kits seat.
Seat harnesses are pre coloured and comprises of eight parts for the straps and around ten parts for the buckles and fastenings. The pre coloured straps are nicely detailed with stitching. The colour and detail is on both sides of all the straps so you can put a twist in the straps. Initially the assembly of the harness looks complex, but if you follow Eduards logical construction sequence then there should be no problems. Obviously some bending is required to drape the harness on the seat and to thread the harnesses through the fastenings.
The seat The additional detail for the seat seems to be for the later seat as fitted to the F-84G. Eduard does not mention which seat the improvement set is for, which is a pity. In fact there is no hint in the title that this release contains detail for the seat. The plastic seat needs some surgery, noticeably the two supporting rods between the framework needs removing [part D34]. The rail behind the seat needs a fair bit of care to bend it into the correct shape. The PE sidewalls for the seat look superb and has some pre coloured areas. The sidewall will require folding for a more realistic thickness and to provide detail on both sides. Additional detail parts for the seat includes two adjustment handles, the two foot rests and the metal plate and brackets that sits over the headrest. I think by the time you have finished detailing the seat, you will not want to fit into the cockpit. There is no colour guidance for painting, so I presume you use the Hobby Boss colour references.
The Instructions maintains Eduards very high standards. The black line drawings and the instructional symbols as well as written instructions in Czech and English are very clear. There is a lot going on putting the harnesses together so take your time and study the instructions carefully. Oddly the instructions state that this release is for a Trumpeter kit.

Conclusions:

This is a great looking detailing set for the seat of the Hobby Boss kit. The kits seat looks pretty good but this PE set will certainly make it eye catching. It’s a shame to bury it in the cockpit. A pity there is some confusion about which seat the detail set is aimed at, but then again the seat detailing is not mentioned in the title.
