Spitfire F Mk. 22 Upgrade
Spitfire F Mk. 22 Exhausts & Gun Barrels

by: Rowan Baylis [ MERLIN ]

S.B.S Model have released a simple but very effective resin upgrade for the cannons and exhausts of Airfix's Spitfire F Mk.22.

Arriving in a small zip-lock bag with a card insert for protection, the sample set contains just 6 perfectly cast parts without any traces of flash, so it should be very straightforward to use, with no preparation required other than to separate the items from their casting blocks.

Both the exhausts and cannon barrels feature neatly hollowed-out ends to add a touch of extra delicacy over the kit parts - the cannons being so fine, I didn't actually spot the drilled-out barrels until I took the photo at left!

Conclusion
This is a fine addition to the S.B.S Models range - offering just the kind of detail purists require, while being simple enough for even newcomers to resin upgrades to tackle with confidence.
