Eduard continue to build on the success of their fantastic Spitfire Mk. IX with a host of aftermarket releases, including this highly useful set of stencil markings for the aircraft.

Originally included with the kit itself, the decals set is really comprehensive with only 70 individual items - sometimes offering alternative styles depending on whether you're building an "early" or "late" Mk. IX.

The printing is immaculate, with even the smallest text quite legible under a magnifier. The items are thin and glossy and (having used the original sheet supplied with the kit) I can vouch for the fact that they snuggle down beautifully with no tendency to silver. No particular decal solutions are recommended, but I used Super Sol and Set with excellent results.

Whether you're looking for Spitfire stencils to go with Eduard's own oversprues, or simply need a top quality set to go with a kit from another manufacturer, Eduard's decals are highly recommended.

Please remember, when contacting retailers or manufacturers, to mention that you saw their products highlighted here - on AEROSCALE.

I've been modelling for about 40 years, on and off. While I'm happy to build anything, my interests lie primarily in 1/48 scale aircraft. I mostly concentrate on WW2 subjects, although I'm also interested in WW1, Golden Age aviation and the early Jet Age - and have even been known to build the occas...

Actually they were available separately since the first release of the kits. There are a few errors, some too trivial to bother about. No 27 - Trestle Here - check other references for correct orientation. Cannot find any examples where they are a mirror image on each side of the roundel. No 39 - should read 'Engine Starter Plug' but is actually stencil for inside of the door. No 39 to 42 inclusive are stencils for inside of the door but are not shown on the diagrams. Cannot find any stencil of the sheet for 'Engine Starter Plug'.
