About F1Boomer
Born in 1953 to a career military officer, I started modeling in 1960. My first kits were 100 series aircraft, F100, etc. Also, saw the movie The Hunters and fell in love with the F86, so built many over the years. I also built a lot of WW2 aircraft, the Monogram Invisible Mustang was on of my favoites, I went thru ROTC and was commisioned in Army in 1975. In 1968 I became interested in Formula 1 racing. My first assignment in the Army was Karlsruhe, Germany and my first F1 race was the 1976 German Grand Prix at the Nurburgring Nordschleife. From that, my modeling intrests changed to F1 cars and Tamiya was my kit of choice. After the Army I got into construction management and my modeling time vanished, Now in my 60's, I am racing Superkarts in the US in the summer and modeling in the winter (which is most of the year in Seattle.). I currently am building all era military aircraft and 1970's era F1 cars.
