About taildragger
Son of an Army officer, was privileged to live in France and Taiwan when I was a boy, plus several places in the U.S. Spent the 4th grade at Leavenworth (but not incarcerated). I've always been thrilled with flying, and read everything I could about aviation, especially fighter pilots. Was fortunate to fly a lot, due to moves and visits. I spent quite awhile in the cockpit of an L-188 when it was under the speed restriction, and flew in DC-7, Dc-8s, Convair 880/990, Boeing 707, Martin 404, L-1011, DC-9, DC-10. And later, C-141, C-5, C-130 (neat!), Beech 18, and Lear 25 (a rocket). Was in the Air Force from '68 to '72, mostly as a ground radio operator (AFSC 29350). Stationed at Lackland, Keesler, MacDill, TDY at Avon Park Bombing Range, 1 year Thailand (Takhli and Ubon), then my final year at Griffiss (Air Police). Plastic modeling is dead in my town, so I'm hoping to exchange ideas with like-minded individuals. Haven't done much modeling in the past 15 years, and am almost overwhelmed by the new technology. Right now is probably the best it's ever been for modelers. Looking Forward To This, Bob
