Hi folks,

1st post with pics on this site. Hobbycraft LA-5n. A pretty basic kit that I started years ago and finishing as an easy way out of my 5 year hiatus.
I know it's pretty mediocre and the photos aint much better but I will post better ones when it's finished.

Next step, is painting the bare metal behind the exhausts and then klear coat and decals.

Comments welcome!

More shots taken tonight: -

Due to airbrush "issues" (basically the darned thing nearly exited through the nearest window!) the camo aint great but I'm gona use it as a testbed for panel line and detail washes.

Comments welcome.

Got the decals on last night.

If you're making this kit, BUY AFTERMARKET DECALS!!! THE KIT ONES ARE CR*P!!

I've seen less transparent windows

Yeah ok they're thin and snuggle down reasonably well with a healthy slug of Microsol, but they're fragile, transparent and the overlaid white and red stars (to create the white surround to the red stars) are misshapen so the white border is a different thickness round the red!!!

I'm glad they're on and it improves the looks to no end but this kit really needs AM decals as wel as a detail set. Anyhoo, I will post pics up asap.

It's apparently too late but I was going to recommend that you tighten up the demarcation lines on the camo before decaling. I agree 100% about their decals, they are garbage. I made ones for my La-7 on the ALPS

Thanks Scott, I will remember this next time I'm on a Soviet machine.

This was really a kind of motivational finish as I started it so long ago and it's my first shot at bein back into it.

Thanks
