My last model for this year is the very old Italeri 1/72 scale Fw 190D-9 kit.
This model was built O.O.B. except for the decals which are from one of the Eagle Cal sheets.
Paints used are Model Master enamels shot with my Iwata HP-B Plus airbrush, this camouflage pattern was painted free handed, the RVD fuselage band was masked and painted on.

This aircraft can be seen in volume one of Jerry Crandall's Dora book, I used the profile on page 171 for guidence in painting this model.

Great work there Les, I think it is a really sharp looking bird. It's funny, some people really like the Dora and think it is the best looking of the FW line, others prefer the A models. I think the TA 152H was the best performer of the line but only a handful got into service before the end of the war. Again, great job! Always enjoy looking at your work. All the best, Russell.

That's another nice one, Les. Wish I could build them that nice and still crank 'em out that fast.

Thanks very much for the comments Russell.

I also prefer the looks of the Ta 152 aircraft over the D-9 but the D-9 had many cool camouflage patterns and markings while it was in service...some great choices for making models of them, sadly the Ta 152H is very limited in its markings choices. Late in 2010 I do plan to build at least two Ta 152s, not sure if they will be the H or the C versions yet.

Below is what I am working on now...

Thank you Atomaton!

Sadly I am a slow builder...for all of 2009 I only built three airplanes.

I will post a recap of all my 2009 production later this week.

Thanks Dirk!
I really appreciate the comments. My next group of Focke-Wulfs that I am working on now should be much better than this Dora...well, thats the plan at least!
