Thought I would take the three 109's I've built over the last ten years and put them together. Makes an interesting photo. Also experimenting with using a white background to shoot my models on. Russell

I Ant, thanks for the compliments. I photographed each 109 so you could get a better look at each one per your request.

The first one is an Academy kit with Aeromaster aftermarket decals. It is in RLM 76 on bottom and 74/75 in splinter on top.

The second one is a Revell of Germany kit from about ten years ago. It is in RLM 76 on bottom and free handed camo of RLM 75/83 on top.

The third kit is from Hasegawa and is in RLM 84 on bottom and RLM 81/82 free handed on top camo.

All are 1/72 scale of course, the scale I work in the most.
I enjoyed building the last one because of the interesting camo job with the RLM 84 on bottom and sides of fuselage. That greenish color looks good to me! Hope you enjoy looking more closely at my work. Thanks again, Russell.

me too ..turning into a bit of 109 year !

nice work on those small 109s Russell..!

FWIW I recently tried some simple 'point and shoot' shots with some of my builds - I was racking my brains to come up with some background ideas. Then I thought about finding some nice 'countryside' pics from the web and just photographing the models on a simple base against the computer screen. I was quite happy with the results..

Ant, get you an airbrush. Save up if you have too. I started out as a kid brush painting. Then went to spray cans, finally got to airbrushes about 12 years back.

I took so long to get to one because I was a little bit afraid of using one. I bought an Aztek 4709 and haven't looked back! It is a great way to paint your models. Russell

I removed the balkenkreuz on the top of the wings and replaced them with new decals that I thought were placed in more correct of a position on the airplane.

Thank you Neil for the kind words!!!

I think i will, though the only problem is the local hobby store doesn't do airbrushes, not really a full fledged model shop we did have to here in Stoke-On-Trent, but the closed many moons ago. can anyone recommend any online sellers here in the U.K.? Ant

I used Badger airbrushes for a long time..never really got on with them. About a year or so ago I picked up on the PremiAir G35 which has been reviewed on this site ..and I really enjoy using it. Its basically a good quality introductory Iwata 'copy' ( and dual-action) and its pretty cheap too (around £40). The 'baby' compressor to run it is around £80. One day I'll get a better Iwata but for the moment this one suits me for all my modelling, from 1/72 109s to larger stuff..You can get them from the airbrush co. or try the art supplies stockist in your town

Link to the Airbrush Co - UK Iwata Stockist ..

the G35 is here

You can get an Aztek for less than one hundered dollars, American, that is double action. Although I have one which is both single and double action; I don't really use the single action function very much. A double action Aztek is a great way to start I think. Russell

You should be very pleased! That is excellent work with a brush. Most people couldn't do that well. Good job on all three kits. Russell

thanks Russell very humbled, hopefully i can finish them off, and not mess up the weathering just debating whether to replace the revell kit canopies, they look fine but i've heard the G-10's canopy's accuracy is questionable.
