I was never big on spelling.

I wonder what the blue color is on the bottom of the engine cowl?

I don't want to overpaint it as I want some of the fabric pattern to show through and I want the surface to looked weathered and not too shiny. From scale distance I could probably get the same effect using painted sandpaper.

It was 141/17 that was sent for wing stress testing.

Here is a shot of 141/17. Pretty much factory standard without wheel covers.

This is where the instruction booklet and I began to diverge.I ran the brass rods through the oversize brace attachment points on the metal frames,as I wanted a closed fuselage.Where the metal rods should have been I replaced them with wood.

If the Engine was sill repairable or usable for spares would it have returned with the wreck to the factory?

The whole airframe would go to the depot. From there the whole airframe would be evaluated. Motors usually took the blunt end of a wreck and a spun crank was normal for a rotary. Worn out would be repaired with new parts if feasible. Bent and battered beyond repair was shipped back by rail to be dead lined and stripped.

It's a reproduction artifact, created by the scanning process. Having been in this business for a while; scanning a color picture on a color copier sometimes screws up the color edges. The newer color copiers have eliminated this problem for the most part. To verify look at the one of the B&W photos on this thread, if there is no color change in that you are probably looking at an artifact.

If it is on the original like you see it, then it is a printing flaw, the master plate did not take up the ink on that spot because of dirt or oil on the plate. (usually a finger print).

The motor would have been detached before transfer to the depot.

Because I keep changing my mind I think that I had better delay the final decision for awhile.

Because of time constraints I will be putting minimum time on the Fokker, instead I will shift my focus to the Camel in German colors.A lot of this is only eye candy anyway as the real story will focus on the wind tunnel ,which I plan to light internally. At this time I am planning to use three German figures(plus Manfred's dog) all looking into the wind tunnel.
