Hi Everyone

It has been a few years now and I thought it may be time for a new Ronnie RAAF campaign for anyone interested in one of the world's greatest ever air forces, the Royal Australian Air Force.

The start date will be decided by the Campaign administrator but I was thinking about July 2014 running for 6 months or so.

The normal rules and regs will apply,

1. Models must not be started until the start date, unless special dispensation is given..

2. Any aircraft operated by the RAAF is valid, even civilian marked aircraft flown by RAAF aircrew such as the Twotter* that used to fly from Tindal to Darwin and back each day.

3. Enter as many times as you want and you will get a ribbon for each completed entry.

4. Build logs and lots of posting are encouraged.

5. Stand alone or Dio's allowed.

6. Entries cannot be used for more than 1 campaign.

7. Work in Progress Pics must be posted in the Official Campaign thread...

8. At least 2 Clear Pictures of the finished model on a plain background must be posted in the Official Campaign Gallery to be awarded the Campaign Ribbon

9. all scales are welcome.

And most importantly, this is not a rivet counting campaign, if you want to build a pink Mirage with purple flashes go right ahead, but it must have authentic RAAF markings, and don't moan if you get ribbed about it..

I will finesse the rules over the next few weeks but we need at least 10 people to sign up for the Campaign if it has to have any chance of approval.

Link to sign up page will be posted when it is produced.

Cheers for now
Warren

What-ifs allowed? I feel the need for an Avro Arrow in antipodean markings proudly wearing Skippy in its wings...

Hmmm.. lets see how we go with enrollments first shall we? I would rather keep it with actual aircraft flown in the RAAF. I remember one modelling contest in Melbourne they asked specifically for a whole bunch of RAAF what-ifs and I built an SR-71 and a Mig-21...

The RAAF has operated many many different types over the years so there is a huge range to choose from, but strangely enough we never operated the Arrow....

That is post RAAF mate..

I was driving back from visiting the Mother In Law in hospital yesterday and guess what car I was following for a while, a V8 Interceptor. It even had MFP number plates!

@ Mark, Ronnie RAAF was the term given to people in the air force who had no time for anything else but the air force.. there are other terms as well but we don't use them in polite company.. Hello again Jessie...

Cheers
Warren

Hmm, I have a few campaigns running already this year, but I might join the party with an Aussie Spit and/or a Kittyhawk. Depends on the date of the campaign. Just let me know.

Which Pig do you have Andrew? I actually was one of the people who did the disposal work on the aircraft. I did not agree with the way they got rid of them eventually. Idiotic idea just because there was asbestos in the aircraft, 99.99999% of which would never have seen the light of day in a museum environment.

@ Torsten, I am sure you will have lots of time for a build.

I don't think we will have any trouble getting 10 people interested..

Hmmm, I have one set of decals for an RAAF F-11C, but no model to stick them on. And a Vultee Vengeance with RAAF decals and a melted wing. Oh well there's time to correct this problem.

I would be interested. No kit at the moment but would be thinking something flown in WWII.

Well there's five people in just a few hours...

A bit of trivia, the RAAF was the 4th largest air force at the end of WW2...

A bit of inspiration. If they aren't some of the most beautiful aircraft to grace the sky I must be crazy!
