Hi,

Sorry if this has already been discussed, but the scrolling pictured links to feature articles on the front page has been puzzling me for quite a while.

Left-clicking and middle-clicking opens the links, that's a no-brainer. If left alone, the picture links scroll on their own.
However, actively scrolling through them seems somewhat awkward to me - you move the mouse cursor off the image to scroll one link forward.

IMHO, it would not only be more convenient, but also a lot more intuitive if the user-controlled scrolling worked by hovering the cursor over the image to bring up navigation arrows as well as indicators to show how many links there are, and which one is currently being displayed.

Gotta' agree with this one.

In addition: When forum threads get really long, the page numbers become overlapped by the 'Latest Posts' button requiring zooming in-and-out in order to view what's at the end.

BTW: Thanks, IT guys, for fixing the page loading issue -- much appreciated!

Cheers Eetu

I agree - and I notice you can't go backwards either. I'll wave this under Jim's nose, but I know he's very busy on admin stuff, so don't expect an instant fix.

All the best

Lol... well, there is a reason for it's current behavior though. It's a page swiping feature (ala iPad, etc). You swipe your mouse right to left to move to the next one.

I realize that it's not a perfect solution, but it's not code heavy and it works when you know how it functions. Or at least I haven't had any major issues with the scrolling feature on my end.

As for the page numbers, I thought that had been fixed, so I will need to see an example of where the numbers are doing that.

Thanks,
Jim

Jim,
The 'The Somme 1916 - Part 2' thread is a good example, as it is twenty-three pages strong, of which, only the first nine are visible without zooming in.

'Extreme Trucks Campaign' is another.

HTH and thank you for your efforts.

Mike; I just took a look at the two linked threads and I do not see the issue you mention.

Jim, Darren,
It looks okay on my iPhone but not on my MacBook Pro -- OS is current.

FYI: I loaded said pages on a PC side-by-side with my MacBook Pro. They look fine (no overlapping buttons) on the PC but not on the Mac.
