Hi all,

Here is my latest effort finished at last, Tamiya's 1/48 Dornier Do 335 Pfeil (Arrow), Werk No 240102, Series A-0, Fin No 102.
The model was built out of the box with kit decals and only minor modifications.

• Photo Etch instrument panel and seat harness from Eduard.
• Gun muzzles drilled out
• Exhaust stacks drilled out
• Tires flattened

It didn't exactly turn in to the masterpiece that I was hoping for but it was a fun build all the same and makes up into one big piston engined single seater.

Thanks for looking
Darren

that's very neat work Darren....can I nit-pick..? one thing that would have improved it for me would have been to paint the framing on the inside of the canopy perhaps......

A great looking subject you have and nice work on the splinter scheme, the Do335 looks good in any scheme.

Thanks for the kind words Jan, Peter, Jesper Job & Neil I really appreciate it.

Neil thanks for the feedback, I knew someone would pick that up as to me it stands out like dogs you know whats. I actually had some Tamiya tape that I had sprayed RLM 66 and cut into thin strips that was going to be used as the interior framing on the canopy. Unfortunately when I applied it I couldn't get it to sit right and it looked pretty horrible. As the model was going into a comp the next day I deep sixed the whole lot rather than having it look half done.

Cheers
Darren

Hi Darson,

I can only see a couple of very minor items to nit-pick-- not worth mentioning.

Your weathering is sensible--the streaking of lubricants behind the control surface hinges

Let us know how the comp went. You have a contender!

Looking good Darren!
This one is also on mine "to-do" list. (i have the extras, but not the kit )
I like the weathering. Subtle as it should be.

Thanks very much Fred & Gregax taking the time to have a look at my 335 and thanks for the comments.

Fred the judges must have not been taking their medication the day of the comp because I managed to pick up best axis

Gregax the Do 335 was always one of those kits that I really wanted to do and the Tamiya offering is just beautifully engineered and a joy to build.

Cheers
Darren
