1⁄48Republic P-47 Thunderbolt Collection

Hi all,
I would like to show you some pictures of the Thunderbolts P-47 I have built in the last months. All in scale 1/72 (ideal for such a huge bird and also for keeping large collections without having to move into a mansion!) and most of them produced by Revell (P-47D and M: what a jewel is this kit, beautiful engineered and very very affordable for all our pockets). I also built some from Academy and just one from Tamiya .
I always finished my Jug's out of the box (yeah, we are in global recession!) apart from "Chief Seattle" that was detailed with a Verlinden Kit (really good this one, highly recommended). The decals are from Eagle Cal Decals and most of them from Lifelike Decals, my favorite for the P-47. These guys in Japan are putting in high quality decals some of the best looking P-47 I have ever seen...
Hope you like the pictures!
By the way, the first time I saw the P-47 in reality was in the Airspace Museum in Paris. I though: oh my God, such an ugly plane. Then I kept taking pictures of the Spitfire and the Focke Wulf... Five years later I can not stop building kits of the Thunderbolt! It is lovely and so big that even in 1/72 looks like a "1/48 plane" from the distance. Also you will need 300 years if you wanna build the most colorful P-47 that flew in combat during the WWII... The amount of choices of markings and colors you have is stunning, comparable only to the Bf 109!

A fine body of work. I especially like the treatment of the natural metal finishes-very convincing. If I had to pick a favorite of the lot, I'd go with HL C, but then I'm partial to natural metal razorbacks.

Great collection of a great plane, Raul! Last year I also built "Rabbit/Black 88" but in quarter scale, together with "Expected Goose", a P-47 N. I like your collection.
Happy modelling

That is really beautiful work...and in 1/72 scale, it's positively brilliant !
