About BlackWidow
My name is Torsten and I live in Karlsruhe in the southwest of Germany, close to the french border. Back in 2001 I started building model kits with a P-40 by Revell. Since then the virus has got me. I'm mostly interested in WW2 era with all these fantastic propeller aircrafts (from todays view). My "favourite" warbirds are P-38 Lightning, P-40 Warhawk, Spitfire, Fw 190, Ki-45 Toryu and - of course - the P-61 Black Widow. Meanwhile I have build about 100 kits, all in 1:48 scale. But sometimes I also build a jet and have somehow developed a soft spot for SAAB military jets. You find me quite often on exhibitions around Germany and Switzerland, as I'm vice president of PMC Kurpfalz, one of the oldest Plastic Modellers Clubs in Germany. I'm also a member of IPMS Switzerland, Bern Branch. In 2013 I've also started to build modern AFV's in 1/35 scale, mainly German Bundeswehr. During my army time 1985-89 I was a gunner/loader on a Leopard 2A4 and later drove a MAN 5 to gl truck for 3 years. Happy Modelling!
