1⁄35Decal Dilemas
When the decal slides easily, slide it partially off the backing paper and pick it up with the tweezers by the backing paper. Position the decal and slide the backing paper from under it. The “Set” allows the decal to be moved into position but also helps it to adhere so don’t spend an age getting it to it’s final position. For final positioning I use a finger or a paintbrush. Once in the correct position leave it alone. There is a blister on the end of one of the gun covers and you can see that the decal is “bridging” this quite badly. Air will get trapped under this so we need to do something about it. If it’s not too bad then you could just leave it, blotting the area and pressing on the decal with a folded tissue works. It also soaks up the excess Set, which is required anyway. I have found that by using a piece of high-density foam, to push the decal down around detail such as this, works well. I also use this foam to squeegee the excess Set out from under the decal. With the excess removed leave the decal to dry. While the first decal is beginning to snuggle down you can start on the next one. |
