Thanks for these photos Magnus, some really nice models there, especially the Lanc Dio.

Glad you like the photos!
There were several 1/72 dioramas by the same builder (I don't know who, even if I have been to C4 every year since 1994!). The models themselves weren't traditional "winner models" but that was more than compensated for by the action and the multitude of figures in the scenes. I would be nice to see more aircraft dioramas, in armour modelling it has almost become the norm to at least have a base plate for the model and one or a few figures included.

Thanks for sharing your pictures of the expo with us, Magus. There are some really nice and unusual models between them. Especially I like the swedish A6M2-N "Rufe" in trainer colour. Is it a "What If" or is it based on a real plane?
Happy modelling!

Hi Torsten!
That Rufe is a what-if, we never had it in Sweden (and I don't think there were any plans to buy it either). It is painted as a rescue plane, the same scheme that we had on the Goose and the Norseman.

Hi.
I built the Rufe. No we didn't use it but yes we could have bought it. In 1940 while "shopping" for aircrafts, mainly in the US, the swedish ambassador who had very good conections asked, on a private initiative, if it was possible to buy the new japanese fighter, the answer was yes and the japanese made an offer to sell the plane. The swedish airforce wasn't interested so nothing came out of it.
In the end we only got 60 Seversky EP-1 of all the aircraft purchased from the US, so an emergency purchase of italian R2000Falco, Fiat CR42 and Caproni CA313 was made.
