IX Scale Modeling Festival in Bytom

  • move
Next to the models which entered the contest the attendees could supply their stashes with new kits from the swap and sale or directly from the manufacturers (RS Models, AML, Karaya, Panzer Art, Stratus Publishing) or hobby shops. For the first time in the history of Bytom festival attendees could present their clubs or models at the exhibitions of Special Interest Group. Some of the SIG displays were for example „Anything Japanese” or „Internet modeling” (kits which were presented at the internet hobby forum www.pwm.org.pl - „Modeling with passion”). The SIG displays were also organized by the clubs from Poland IPMS Silesia, IPMS Świdnica, IPMS Kraków and from Czech, HR Cappucino Club from Varazdina, RC models from Silesia Aero Team and Polish modeling clubs from Będzin, Inowrocław and Jaworzno. One of the additional attraction was the multimedia presentation of the weathering techniques for the AFV by the modeler – Kamil Feliks Sztarbała. The lecture hall was full for the all time of Kamils presentation so I assume he didn't bore anyone to death. On the hall the RC modelers shown their works both on the ground and in the air. On the contest display we could see a model which will be available soon on the market: a Special Hobby Yak-23 in 1/72 scale made by Ales Pavlas. You could see this kit on some of the pictures from latest Nürnberg Toy Fair.

Michal, thanks for nice report. Great to see how many people are devoted to our hobby! Will anyone do a report for Armorama with AFV, dioramas, etc?

Absolutely fabulous work to look at!! Really enjoyed going through the photos, thanks so much for posting them. I hope that there are some younger folks building in the hobby as well. Take care, Russell

Thank You Michał for Your report. I deeply regret, I was'nt there...Maybe next year? Who knows... I must confess that on my display some photos looks little grainy. Is it me or something with quality?
MAR 06, 2012 - 02:10 AM
Some of the pictures were taken at the large zoom so the grain effect can be seen, most likely it's the problem with the picture quality not your computer or monitor.

Lots of inspiration there!
