IX Scale Modeling Festival in Bytom

Let's take a look at the official statistics now. 276 modelers from Poland and abroad entered the contest with 931 models together in all categories. Another 270 models were displayed at the SIG exhibitions but these kits did not enter to the competition. On the festival we could meet modelers from other countries than Poland. Most of them came from Czech but also Slovakia, Hungary, Croatia (HR Cappucino Club from Varazdina), few guys from Great Britain and Austria had their representatives. In the aviation contest models were divided into few categories (except the scales): general airplanes, airplanes up to 1921, civilian airplanes, civilian gliders, helicopters and aviation dioramas. For the first time organizers have created another age category, next to juniors and seniors: youngsters. These little fellows (and I don't mean Hobbits) had a separate competition and display area. The skill level amongst youngest competitors was very high as the judging committees couldn't find the best kits and all competitors won some prizes. Of course this was just one of the ways to avoid cry at the end of the game and keep them at the hobby encouraging to building more kits for the next year edition.

Thank You Michał for Your report. I deeply regret, I was'nt there...Maybe next year? Who knows... I must confess that on my display some photos looks little grainy. Is it me or something with quality?
MAR 06, 2012 - 02:10 AM
Some of the pictures were taken at the large zoom so the grain effect can be seen, most likely it's the problem with the picture quality not your computer or monitor.

Lots of inspiration there!
