1⁄1Basler Modellbautage 2014

Early in October the Basel Section of IPMS Switzerland held their annual model show. As I live only 200 km north of Basel (and being also a member of IPMS Switzerland) I joined that expo already for the 5. time. Beside looking at all the fantastic built models, meeting some of my friends from Switzerland and having a chat here and there makes such an expo always worth a visit for me. The majority of the exhibits were again aircrafts in various scales from all epochs and the „Scale Knights“, a SIG within the Basel club, had made a really interesting task for this year. They took the quarterscale kit of the Hobbyboss Me 262 and built several „What If“ models. Though I'm not really a „What If“ fan, I was amazed, what these guys made of the good old Me 262. So there was a dutch Tigermeet 262, a USN carrier based 262, a 262 U-2, a 262 target tug, a Patrouille Suisse 262, a sea resue 262 based on the construction of a „Walrus“ and so on. The idea I liked most was a nice little dio with a civil 262 on floats somewhere on a lake in Canada. So I hope you enjoy the photos that I made. And maybe you recognize some of my models …. ;-)

Torsten,
Thank you for taking the time to take, edit, and then share all those pictures with us. While I rarely get to travel to any IPMS conventions these days, I do really appreciate the opportunity to view pictures of the models.

Hi Torsten, thanks but as a note....
the Scale Knights are a small group of modelers based around Basel/Switzerland which are NOT part of IPMS Basel as mentioned earlier.😉

Those floats are off an A6M-2N if I'm not mistaken. I'm not a huge 'what if' fan either, but I like that.
